OCTOBER IS INFANT SAFE SLEEP MONTH
October is nationally recognized Infant Safe Sleep Month. Every October, Maine Children's Trust releases an Infant Safe Sleep toolkit to spread awareness of safe sleep. We know that one entity alone cannot solve child abuse and neglect or promote the educational tools and resources to make it happen. It takes all of us to actively ensure Maine communities are a place where safe babies become children who thrive. The Infant Safe Sleep campaign supports our dedicated network of local prevention programs and staff across the state, the Maine Infant Safe Sleep & Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Coalition, the
Maine_Prevention_Councils, the
Maine Families Home Visiting Program, and our Parenting Consultants.
Infant Safe Sleep Month is a great opportunity to promote awareness and education around infant safe sleep. The campaign goals are to build support and partnerships, educate for action, connect to local prevention efforts, and message best practices.
