MAINE CHILDREN'S TRUST GRANT
APPLICATION

This page contains all of the documents you will need to apply for your grant, from the "Letter of Intent" to the proposal itself. It also has the report form required by the Maine Children's Trust (MCT), helpful hints from the Grant Allocations Committee and the Score Sheet used by the Committee to review grant proposals. The Score Sheet, however, is only one tool used by the Grant Allocations Committee to review the grants. All decisions of the Grant Allocations Committee are final.

The "Letter of Intent" is for use by any Maine-based, 501(c)3 organization serving Maine residents who wish to apply for a child abuse and neglect prevention/ family strengthening grant. The other downloadable documents on this page are for use by those invited to apply for a Maine Children's Trust grant in this grant cycle or by current grantees. Invitations are the result of a "Letter of Intent" electronically submitted by the deadline of 4:00 PM on January 11, 2010, and reviewed by the Maine Children's Trust Grant Allocations Committee. Unsolicited proposals will not be accepted. The report form is for use by all current grantees and can be used as an aid to help applicants/grantees to understand what information will need to be gathered.

On this page, we now offer a downloadable document with helpful hints from our Grant Allocations Committee about what they specifically look for when reviewing the proposals. The Score Sheet used as one tool in reviewing the proposals is also available.

One Microsoft Word document is the "Instruction Page" as well as the "Main Body" (narrative) of the grant proposal. Please read the instruction sheet carefully to ensure your proposal is completed properly. The instructions have changed and proposals that are not correctly assembled will not be reviewed. One Microsoft Word document is the "Score Sheet" used by the Maine Children's Trust Grant Allocations Committee in their review of the proposals. The "Score Sheet" is only a guide. The decisions of the Grant Allocations Committee are final. For the "Score Sheet", click here.

One Microsoft Word document is some "Helpful Hints" by the Grant Allocations Committee to assist applicants understand what the Committee is looking for in a proposal. For the "Helpful Hints", click here.

One Adobe Acrobat document is the "Cover Page" for the grant proposal as well as the "Program Information" MCT needs to collect but which is used solely for informational purposes. For the "Cover Page" and "Program Information" forms, click here. One Microsoft Excel document is the "Budget Page" for the proposal. For the "Budget Page", click here.

One Adobe Acrobat document is the "Report Form" for current grantees and for use by applicants to better understand the information MCT needs to collect. This may help applicants write their proposal. For the "Report Form", click here. Use these forms only rather than recreate them in another document.
